2016 Bike Festival Part 2

Today I'm going to focus on the Golden Oldies - All these bikes are in running condition.

In 1978 Kawasaki introduced the Z1000-D1, better known as the Z1-P. This was a factory customized motorcycle featuring a small handlebar fairing, a four into one exhaust system and eighteen inch, seven spoke alloy wheels at the front and the rear.
- The Z1-R had twin drilled disc brakes up front with a single drilled disc at the rear.
- The Z1-R was the first of the Kawasaki's to feature the new angular look and was finished in a light metallic blue described by Kawasaki as Metallic Stardust Silver. Specs:
Engine: Air cooled four stroke, transverse four cylinder, DOHC
Capacity: 1015 Max Power: 94hp@8000rpm Dry Weight: 246kg (542 pounds)
Top speed: 220 km/h (137 mph)

Just press the pause button if you want to read about the details of the specific bike on display

Annual South African Bike Festival

Everyday for the next week I'm going to post photo's and videos of the get-together so that you can see what we are up to . . . .

Of course I went with my T-Dub, this is the first photo taken upon arrival at the gate of the Kyalami racing circuit today with some fellows of the Warlock Chapter riding with me

The lean mean green machine parked next to the other bikes.

Some refreshments anyone?

Lets start with the competition for the best custom built bike in South Africa. . There are plenty of workshops over here where a lot of grinding, welding, cutting, spraying etc. etc. is going on. All these bikes were modified and restored locally!
